Мне кажется, нужно было его делать русскоязычным изначально, как нью-йоркский или бостонский. Посты на английском много англоязычных не привлекли, а русскоязычных отпугнули.

Ну и конечно, Alpha Male Attitude многих старейшин на форуме напрягает. Меня, помню как с первого же поста как "окружили да замочили", так года два вообще желания не было заходить.

на самом деле, в "ху из онлайн" пару сотни ботов постоянно читают шедевры типа "ON GENETICS, HOMOSEXUALITY, AND CONSERVATISM" с 2003-го года. 

Кто эти люди?  Их тоже окружили-замочили?  Да и люди ли это?

If we must pick a language, then it should be English. Russian should only be used in Russian language sections of the forum. 

I imagine majority of Russians that live in USA can read and write English well enough to participate in the discussions. And, we don't close doors to Americans who actively participate in the forum as well.  There are plenty of Russian-language forums in Russia, New York, etc. that attract people who prefer to communicate in Russian.

Regarding moderation: Does anybody believe that if I started blocking replies that can be offensive to some readers that will increase the forum activity versus even further reduce the number of posters?

I welcome any suggestions.

If all , even remotely, offencive posts will be removed, then forum will be like unsalted fish or pop-culture..... my guess, members raised here will love that

plus , we russians have to find "стрелочник" and better him, than me

Makes sense.  It never occurs to me that I might have misplaced my car keys... always assume the cats must have been playing with them and lost them.  ;)
