Re: Herman Cain for President?
Orkster:Who cares what to call polilitcal/economic/social order in China? One thing's for sure, it's uniquely Chinese. The important thing is its impact on our life here. And of course, Cain is unelectable. He'll fade.
China hasn't made any impact on our lives here. It was Kissinger first and then greedy corporate basterds (including Steve the fooking Jobs) who done it.... China simply provided state sponsored cheap labor.
Once Chinese internal market saturates to same level as in the west and once their population becomes too old (hello one child policy) - they will fade.... Africa is the new frontier for capitalist pigs expansion !!

Re: Herman Cain for President?
Hello, this is Jack Smith with Goldman Sachs,
I am contacting you on behalf of the Minister of Finance of Zaire. There is $10,000,000,000,000 of unclaimed dollars found in one of our bank accounts. Please send us $150 via WesternUnion and we will send you the package of collateral debt obligations we have also recently found.

KGBMan:расшифруй !!
Это элементарно, Ватсон. In monetary as well as in percentage terms, the rich pay the vast proportion of taxes. The poor pay very little. Under 999 everyone will pay the same in terms of percentage of income. Since some people have vastly more income then others, 9% tax represent a drop from their current tax liability. The drop is not that impressive in terms of percentages. But in terms of hard cold cash, it's a shitton of money!!!! - Hence, the graph.

Re: Herman Cain for President?
I don't like the evisceration of Cain any more than I liked the impeachment treatment given to Bill Clinton. We need to stop all this. We got way too many problems in this country to worry about things like what somebody did between two consenting adults. Frankly, I didn't care that Bill played around with Monica. That was between him, his wife, and Monica. What Cain may have done 14 years ago or yesterday between him and some woman, if they both wanted it, simply isn't my concern. My questions about his capabilities are much bigger than that. But today, anybody can say anything and bring anyone down, and it's printed as fact to be "refuted". Yawn.......... How can anybody defend himself from sexual harrassment claims? There were no witnesses, only, supposedly the two of them in a car. No police were called immediately. It's a classic "he said, she said" He will say she is a liar, and she will say he is. Damage done, she gets her 15 minutes of fame and gets to write a book later. America is screwed out of another potential leader. Just ask Justin Beiber about unfounded allegations. Damage done, she gets a book deal. If I were Cain or Beiber, I would sue the hell out of somebody. I hope they do, Beiber will but Cain won't. He just prays the whole thing dies. What happened to any journalistic standard that you didn't print a story until you had 2 independent sources? Gone with the Wind. Rumor is much better than facts, Unproven allegations are okay to print, especially if your a republican, without any independent verification. Just a note here, the journalists who knew about John Edwards (Democratic Senator and Presidential Candidate) love baby sat on that story for almost a year because it "couldn't be independently verified." As Anton says, I call Bullshyte.

Re: Herman Cain for President?
Politico brought it out originally, I wouldn't call them real journalists. That's new online media, they have few standards. ...but ultimately, Cain was never electable. It's the funny season now, it's ok to play around. Serious campaigning hasn't begun yet.

Re: Herman Cain for President?
Agreed that Cain was never a serious candidate anyway. If he were, these women would have come out a year from now. This was the best opportunity they were ever going to get. As much as i like the guy, the earlier he steps down, the better. I am ready for a Romney/Gingrich showdown at this point. Hope Cain gets a high ranking post in the next government, though. Or better yet in the cabinet. He's been extra careful not to antagonize the other candidates too much, this is the "biden approach". Arguably he was never shooting for the presidency in the first place, though he'd never admit it. But with this BS, he is done even as VP candidate. (and I agree w mkgilstrap abt the fairness issue, i'd indict every single one of these women for defamation. Even if something happened, wtf were they thinking for 15 years letting a sexual predator walk around free around our women and children?

Re: Herman Cain for President?
Egor,
As for a Romney/Gingrich showdown, I am ready too.
This field is too crowded with candidates. However, the Iowa caucus will start weeding them down in about 55 days or so. I feel once we get down to 2 candidates, the race will get interesting. Cain in the cabinet?? Interesting thought.
Makes me mad though, about all the personal attacks. Robs America of leadership, probobly why Trump didn't run.
Orkster,
Thought Cain was a serious candidate, don't rightly know what to think now.

Re: Herman Cain for President?
KGBman, obviously Romney is the most likely nominee, this has been known for years. I disliked Romney in 2007-8 in favor of McCain, but i've warmed up to him somewhat.. Gingrich has very little shot, but a lot more now than a month ago. What is not known and difficult to project is where will the supporters of other candidates go as they drop out. Arguably, Romney may not get the bulk of these people, as he has a serious likability/trust issue w the conservative base. Last major poll of registered republicans (yesterday) was by CBS News/New York Times: 1. Cain 18% (dropped by 7 points from previous poll)
2(tie) Gingrich 15% (up by 5 points from previous poll) 2(tie) Romney 15% (dropped by 6 points from previous poll) And that doesn't even add up to 50% of those polled.. So even assuming Cain somehow survives this and sticks around for a while, good luck projecting how the other 50% will split once others drop out. These are people essentially in two groups. One is undecided, which Romney and Gingrich will probably split about evenly as the most intelligent and polished overall candidates which appeals to the intelligent wing of the republican party But the other group is a collection of pissed off tea partiers, libertarians, anarchists, religious nuts, and supporters of candidates who clearly take bong hits before debates (Perry). Romney is antichrist to most in this second group, and Gingrich may be the lesser evil to an unknown percentage of them.
Reason I like Gingrich is I believe he represents a convergence of making the most intelligent (even on issues I disagree w him on), anti-establishment (ironically), politically experienced, knowledgeable, creative, and effective president of the group, and also (and this is not common thinking right now) he does have the highest chance of beating Obama. Polls indicate that's Romney right now, but people need to imagine the debates between Gingrich and Obama, this would be historic and monumental. Nothing like this since Lincoln/Douglas
I think Romney and Obama debates won't do much for either candidate, they are both pretty good debaters with nothing new to say that people haven't already heard ad nauseum, so the Obama v. Romney polls as they stand today will probably hold for the most part (depending on the state of the economy at that point), and I am not comfortable w that at all.

McCain is fooking idiot and should die already..... "Libya is a warning to Russia....." --- fook you McCain into your empty head !! Gingrich might have the greatest ideas in the world and he is in fact the best debated of the group - but he is un-electable.... all in all - they are all mothafookers who should be kept away from politics by a mile... all corrupt, self right chess SOB's , this country needs a revolution and whole new bunch of people in power....
